Click to read: Psalm 1:5
Stand or cringe. It’s your choice. One day, all of humanity will be called before the judgment seat of the Almighty God. There, we will each give an account of our works, our words, our motives and our acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ. To those who have delighted in the law of the Lord, they will be given a welcome into the kingdom of God for eternity. Their righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees because it was a righteousness from their hearts, a righteousness that came through Jesus Christ.
But the ungodly are not so. There will be no place to run and hide on that day. It will be you and God. If you do not serve Him now, you will cringe for fear of His wrath, which you will so justly deserve. The further awful truth is that there will be no turning back from your decision to reject Jesus Christ. This is not a meeting of the minds to discuss options. There will be no last minute negotiations to reach a peaceful settlement. You will be there only to hear what your entire being will convulse in fear to realize: your judgment is eternal punishment, having been written by your life’s choices and sealed by the Almighty’s Word.
But now there is breath. Now there is time. Now there is hope. Choose life, so that you may live. Delight yourself in Christ and His ways. One day, you will be immensely glad that you did.
Be blessed with sober thinking.
