Click to read: Ecclesiastes 11:1
You never know what is going to pay off. You just don’t know. You see, God has not given us the gift of looking into the future whenever we feel like it. If He had, it would be a lot easier. We could look at relationships, jobs, investments and every area of our life to see if it would produce the kind of fruit that we are wanting to harvest. Wouldn’t that be nice? We think so, but we really are not wise enough to be our own masters. We would shortchange ourselves on about anything that looked like it would produce some pain or suffering, not knowing or caring that much of the things that we treasure so dearly come that way.
So cast your bread on the waters. Don’t worry about getting soggy bread. Invest yourself. Invest your time. Invest your money. Plan for the future even if it doesn’t look like you HAVE a future right now. God is the God of today, but He is also the God of every day, the future included. And His laws that He has set in motion in this earth that WE live in require that we DO something. His laws require that seed be sown before it brings fruit. His laws tell us that the one who has friends must show himself friendly. The one who does not want to go hungry must observe the ways of the ant who prepares winter’s food in summer’s prosperity.
Then it will be up to Him to bless it and make good on His promise, won’t it? And has He ever failed you?
Be blessed with hope. And do something about it.
